BFS-News-1200x800-D-Max-Dust-1-1024x683 The toughest and safest ute

While many new utes are adding creature comforts, only now has a ute been able to provide a non-ute driving experience while maintaining the strength and capability you need to take it off-road.

All-new Isuzu D-Max is the toughest yet and sets new benchmarks for power, comfort and safety in the ute market.

Isuzu builds some of the most powerful diesel engines in the world, and all-new 2021 D-Max comes with a tough 3.0L turbo engine giving 140kW of power and 450Nm of torque across a wider rpm range. Its 4×4 rear differential lock and higher ground clearance means you can take it anywhere you like. And tow up to 3.5 tonnes while you’re at it.

But it’s so much more than that. All-new D-Max is also the safest ute in New Zealand, having been awarded a 5-Star ANCAP rating using the tough new 2020 criteria. Its world-class suite of active safety features includes Autonomous Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Support System on auto models, Lane Departure Warning, Blind-Spot Monitor and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert. All this in addition to a full complement of airbags including a front seat centre airbag – unique to the ute market. Plus LED daytime running lights.

“The D-MAX rating re-establishes the safety benchmark for the competitive ute segment” (ANCAP Director, Rhianne Robson – 16 September 2020) Read more.

Also leading the class, is D-Max’s 9” screen with wireless Apple CarPlay, adaptive cruise control, and some seriously nice comforts such as remote engine start and auto lights and wipers.

Your back row passengers are going to enjoy the ride more too thanks to rear air vents – something not all competitors can boast. Plus a 12V plug, decent-sized door bins and a flip-down armrest with cupholders.

Power, comfort and safety are top notch. What about the ride? The engine is smooth and quieter than ever before, with a responsive steering feel and SUV-like suspension. This makes driving a pleasure at any speed and under any load, and manoeuvring a breeze. Its six-speed auto moves off the mark quickly, with great acceleration, particularly from 0-60km/h.

Isuzu’s 8 years of development has produced what is unquestionably a class-leading ute. The toughest, safest and most versatile and driveable yet!
