The Stonic is coming to New Zealand! The new facelifted model will be making its way to Aotearoa, set to arrive in late 2020. The new-look Stonic is an updated version of the existing model that has been on sale in Korea and Europe for the last few years. This compact SUV crossover will slot in below Seltos joining the range as Kia’s most affordable SUV at the achievable introductory MRP of only $21,990 +ORC (price available until December 31st 2020).
The Stonic offers incredibly good value across the five model variants being added to the line-up in New Zealand. The flagship GT-Line and GT-Line+ models will be powered by a turbocharged 1.0L GDi engine capable of 74kW of power and 171Nm of torque. The LX, EX and Limited variations of the Stonic will adopt the 1.4L non-turbo engine, with a similar power output but less torque at 133Nm.
Measuring just longer than 4.1 metres and less than 1.8 metres wide, the Stonic is the new baby of the Kia SUV range, slotting in under the Seltos, which measures about 4.4 metres in length and an even 1.8m wide. It’s also shorter with measuring 1.5m high shorter than the 1.6m Seltos. This will make it the perfect ‘around town’ SUV, able to zip around tight side streets and park in those difficult spots, but with plenty of room for the kids, shopping or extra luggage on road trips.
The Stonic will also feature Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection along with blind-spot monitoring¹, Lane Keep Assist and Smart Cruise Control². Inside the Stonic will feature an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that offers Apple Carplay and Andriod Auto as well as multi-device Bluetooth connectivity.
The Stonic will be turning heads all over town with its ‘tiger-nosed’ grill and bi-projection headlight setup. Packed with personality the Stonic features bold wheel arches and a two-tone colour option that allows you to personalise your vehicle.
