Hyundai has scooped five awards in the 2015 AA Car of the Year Awards.

The new Hyundai Tucson has won the coveted People’s Choice Award at the AA Car of the Year Awards. This is a fantastic endorsement of the Tucson only months after it was launched. The Tucson also won Best Medium SUV category.

Hyundai New Zealand General Manager Andy Sinclair says “To win an award voted by the people of New Zealand for an advanced new medium SUV like Tucson is a wonderful validation of our emphasis on class-leading design, user-friendly technology and superb driveability. I’d like to thank all those who voted for Tucson in this award”.

The Hyundai Santa Fe, New Zealand’s most popular large diesel SUV, won the Best Large SUV category, building on its win in the same category last year.

The Hyundai Genesis took out the Best Luxury Car and Safest Car awards. The judges commented that “with the Genesis, Hyundai has presented the luxury market with a five-star car that goes well above what is expected to achieve the rating. Alongside its near perfect crash test performance the Genesis has a large suite of safety assist technologies as standard.”

David Foot, Hyundai Dealer Principal at Brendan Foot Supersite, is ecstatic about the fantastic recognition Hyundai’s vehicles have received from the Awards.

“To have three Hyundai models all exceeding design, technology and driveability standards, and winning awards, not to mention the Tucson being chosen by the public as their Car of the Year, is an amazing way to end the year, and is a very positive reflection on the quality vehicles Hyundai produce”.
