Jaime and her husband, Tim, purchased a Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) from Brendan Foot Supersite.

Jaime came to Brendan Foot Supersite to purchase an electric vehicle to replace her family’s 10 year old Audi Q7. Her two considerations were age and running costs, and having done her research on the benefits of electric vehicles, she was well prepared to purchase a new vehicle. She is now very happy the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV she purchased meets all her needs in these areas.

She likes that the Outlander PHEV is a plug-in electric vehicle and also likes that it helps reduce carbon emissions. To charge the Outlander, she plugs it in at home to keep running costs down.

“I have found the Outlander to be very economical, and owned it for two months before I filled it up with petrol,” she says.

Jaime uses the vehicle for a lot of “around town” driving, such as school activities and going to the shops, and it was only because they were going to Palmerston North did they need to visit a petrol station.

To help maximise the cost benefit of the electric motor they have changed to a lower per kWh night rate plan with their electricity provider. She also uses the smartphone app to programme the timing of the charge to take advantage of the lower night rates. As a result, she finds the charging easy, and so much better than their old combustion engine vehicle.

When it came time to buying the Outlander PHEV, Jaime and her husband were reassured when they visited Brendan Foot Supersite. They felt very comfortable with their salesman, Hendrik Stander, who supported them during their decision making process with no pressure. They appreciated that Hendrik answered all their questions and acknowledged when he didn’t know an answer.

Before making their final decision on the Outlander PHEV, Jaime and her husband crossed the Brendan Foot Supersite to check out the Kia Niro PHEV, and the Hyundai Kona. They preferred the seating and the overall height of the Outlander PHEV, but found that being able to easily compare vehicles at the same place was a benefit of coming to a multi-brand dealer.

After driving the Outlander PHEV for a few months, Jaime says they are astounded with how quiet it is.

“Our son loves the spaceship noise during acceleration!”

With a family, safety is important and they love the safety features in the Outlander. Jaime appreciated Hendrik taking the time to explain these features to them.

Jaime also was impressed with the after-sales service she received.

“I thought there was a problem with the key, but the tech guys at Brendan Foot Supersite, who were on lunch break, soon assured me everything was fine. I was really impressed with their responsiveness and attitude.”
