The NZ Transport Agency has issued a recall for Takata airbags in a range of vehicle makes. Owners of these vehicles are strongly urged to have their airbags checked.
You may have heard about this safety recall in the media or been contacted directly by your Manufacturer.
To date there have been no injuries reported in New Zealand as a result of these airbags at this stage, however, it is important to us that our customers are confident their front passenger airbag will activate correctly and safely if required.
The Motor Industry Association states that while it is still safe to drive your vehicle, it is not possible to 100% guarantee the airbags will inflate correctly without a visual check of the airbag connection.
If you own the following make of car, please contact us on 04 568 1160 to see if your car is affected:
If your vehicle is on the recall list our technicians can thoroughly check and test the airbags for you to ensure your safety when driving.
Even if your vehicle isn’t affected by this recall, all Manufacturers from time to time release safety recalls and service campaigns. As a franchise dealer we can check if your vehicle has any outstanding recalls or campaigns and make arrangements to get this work completed at no cost to yourself.
We contact our regular customers with this information, so please ensure you notify our Customer Service team with any changes to your contact details so we can contact you. We will always check for any recalls and campaigns at every service visit for our regular customers.
If you are not a Brendan Foot Supersite customer, we can still check your vehicle for current or outstanding recalls or campaigns.
Please contact us on 04 568 1160 if you have any questions regarding this recall, or if you want us to check your vehicle for other recalls/campaigns.
