The NZ Transport Agency has issued a recall for Takata airbags in a range of vehicle makes. Owners of these vehicles are strongly urged to have their airbags checked.
You may have heard about this safety recall in the media or been contacted directly by your Manufacturer.
To date there have been no injuries reported in New Zealand as a result of these airbags at this stage, however, it is important to us that our customers are confident their front passenger airbag will activate correctly and safely if required.
The Motor Industry Association states that while it is still safe to drive your vehicle, it is not possible to 100% guarantee the airbags will inflate correctly without a visual check of the airbag connection.
